Fellowships are unpaid and are a minimum of 4 months with 10-20 hours committed per week. Fellows who successfully contribute to and procure research grants during their fellowship, may have the opportunity to continue working with MSG beyond their fellowship term in a remunerated role.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be a recent MSc, MPH or PhD graduate from an epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, social sciences, political science or any health-related graduate degree.

Set up, preparation, operation and adjustment of audio, recording, editing and reproducing equipment in order to record, edit and reproduce sound input;
Ensuring the delivery of high-quality audio, and audio edits for continuity, style, consistency, and structure;
Responsible for overseeing recording sessions, audio clean up and editing, and mixing and mastering the audio;
Sourcing music and sound or composing original content as required;

Work both on and off-site;
Set-up and tear-down lighting, camera, audio-equipment and props;
Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot problems with equipment;
Participate in preproduction, production, and postproduction of video projects;
Review shooting plans to create a shot list based on the goals set out;
Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing;
Develop an overall video brand messaging strategy.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have either a degree in film editing or similar degree with at least two (2) years of experience, or five (5) or more years of experience and a portfolio highlighting a variety of visual formats.

Professional mastery as photographer/videographer
Experience using a variety of software for example: Adobe Premiere Pro 2020, Adobe Suites - After Effects/Premiere Pro/Photoshop/Lightroom
Expertise in the operation of video/photography and editing equipment
Knowledge and a good understanding of motion graphics is preferred
Experience in the preparation and operation of video recording and playback equipment to edit video after production
Experienced and interested in creating video for a variety of digital platforms (Youtube, Instagram, TikTok)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent teamwork skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with team members and liaise with study investigators.

Salary: Will be commensurate with experience and qualifications

Contract length: 6 months
